Daein Cha

With 20 years of oil and gas work experience, Daein specialises in LNG major capital project management, LNG business development and LNG procurement and trading.  He joined Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd in 1998 and has since served roles of increasing responsibilities including Manager of LNG procurement & trading, and Manager of LNG upstream business development.  

Daein joined Chevron Australia (Chevron) in 2012 as Deputy Business Manager and in 2014 as Deputy Project Manager for the Gorgon Expansion Project.  He also served on the Project Leadership Team to manage the development of Chevron's Gorgon Stage 2 and Jansz-Io Compression projects.

Daein has taken on the role as Managing Director of Transborders Energy since November 2016.

Daein received his Bachelor’s degree in Management from the International Christian University (Japan), Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Virginia Darden Graduate School of Business Administration (USA), and qualification as Certified Cost Professional (CCP) of AACE International accredited by the Council of Engineering and Scientific Speciality Boards.  Daein is also a member of the Association of International Energy Negotiators (AIEN).


Peter Grant

Subsurface Advisor, Geologist and Geophysicist

Peter Grant

Peter has over 40 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry specialising in geophysics, exploration and international E&P business development. 

Peter has extensive work experience in Africa, South East Asia, Middle East, South America and Australasia, and has led successful teams that have made discoveries in the UK, Australia, Algeria, Libya, Sierra Leone and Mauritania.  Peter’s experience base is founded in geoscience but has extensively augmented his expertise in corporate strategy, business development, commercial negotiations and portfolio management through his roles such as Exploration Manager for North Australia, Africa and Middle East for BHP Petroleum, and through senior roles in Woodside Energy as International Exploration Manager, General Manager International, and General Manager International Ventures.

Peter has established International Energy Solutions, a strategic advisory company for the energy industry in and works closely with either Governments or oil companies in areas of: strategy and planning, business development, portfolio growth or rationalisation and technical oversight.  Peter currently advises clients on growth projects in sub Saharan Africa, China and South East Asia, both petroleum and coal seam methane related. He also provides commercial and political risk advice and has conducted numerous oil and gas training seminars.

Peter has a Bachelor of Honours in Geology from Nottingham University. He is currently a National Board member of the Australia/Arab Chamber of Commerce and their state Chair for West Australia. He was the founding chair of the Australia Korea Business Council of WA. He was the President of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) for the Asia Pacific regionfrom 2015 to 2017, and is an active member of Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia (PESA), Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG),  South East Asia Petroleum Exploration Society (SEAPEX) and the Australia Society of Exploration Geophysicist (ASEG).


Eduardo Robaina

D&C Manager

Eduardo Robaina

Eduardo has extensive experience in operations as well as project development and well detail designs, ranging from subsea (deep water) gas and oil developments to artificially lifted, onshore, heavy oil developments where he completed hundreds of well workovers that included stimulation, coiled tubing and slick-line operations.

Eduardo started his career in 2000 as a Wells Completion Engineer at ENI Corporation, and has since served roles of increasing responsibility within the Drilling and Completions departments such as Completion Advisor for Santos and Lead Engineer for Woodside.  Eduardo has demonstrated sound commercial acumen and broader business understanding that has enabled successful transition from performing purely technical engineering work to covering a broad spectrum of general management activities from contract negotiation, staffing management, business development, profitability and revenue management, client and stakeholder management and project execution.

Eduardo joined Add Energy in September 2015 as the Vice President of Petroleum Engineering and has provided consultation services for a range of top tier clients in the oil and gas sector.  Eduardo has concurrently served as Subsurface and D&C Manager of Transborders Energy since September 2017. 

Eduardo holds a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from the Universidad Metropolitana, Caracas, Venezuela.

Andrew Bobey

Subsurface Advisor, Petroleum Engineer

Andrew Bobey

Andrew has over 30 years of experience in Reservoir and Petroleum Engineering and has worked on projects in five different continents.

Before becoming an independent consultant in 2004, Andrew worked in various staff positions for large multi-nationals, medium and small sized independent operators and an internationally recognized consulting firm.  He has also been a director of a Venture Capital firm based in Canada and been involved with six other oil and gas related start-ups.

Andrew received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (with Distinction) from the University of Alberta and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Calgary.


Steven Seow

Technical Advisor

Steven has over 20 years of experience in mechanical engineering design and design team leadership in the resources industry across Australia and South East Asia.

Steven progressed to hold technical design leadership roles in consulting and EPCM projects across various sectors including minerals, oil and gas, manufacturing and infrastructure (marine and land-based) in his previous role with GHD. Steven integrates a strong focus on safety-by-design as a result of his varied experience providing innovative solutions to clients including BP, BHP, Quadrant, Woodside, FMG, Rio Tinto, Alcoa and others.

Steven joined Transborders Energy as an Engineering Advisor in late 2016 concurrent with his role as Technical Director at GHD. He has since taken on the role of Project Services Manager for Transborders Energy from March 2018.

Steven holds a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering majoring in Mechatronics from Curtin University, Western Australia.


Georgie Gallagher

Marketing Advisor

Georgie Gallagher

Georgie has 30 years experience in media relations and applying marketing and branding principles to the promotion of products and services in Australia and throughout Asia.

Georgie worked in the pharmaceutical and dairy industries before commencing her career in consulting. She began her own consultancy, Wildmoon, in January 2000. Wildmoon has become a respected marketing consulting company in the Western Australian market working on significant brand and marketing communications projects. Georgie has consulted to the health, financial services, mining, fleet management, IT and PPE industries.  

Georgie commenced working with Transborders Energy in June 2017.
